Bringing a great idea to life is no small task.
Once Chris Hood's idea sparks a new direction to take a vessel, he and our design team put into action a plan for creating a classic, functional and personal beauty that speaks volumes of the owner's tastes and requirements.
Chris Hood has been designing since his youth and knows the importance of what drives the emotional process to create a boat that defines it's character. The design team works together with the client to ensure each desire and every detail is met. It can start on a chilly New England night and a simple sketch pad capturing a penned hull and mast. Such is the story of the C.W. Hood 32 daysailer. From a quick sketch and a big idea, a sailboat is born. Every calculation and detail is brought to life through the freedom of design.

A yachting classic returns to the waterways! The highly coveted Wasque 32 is reborn with advanced engineering, modern systems and a smartly redesigned layout.

Jarvis Newman 46

CW Hood 42 Sailboat
Drawn for a gentleman that was captivated by the H-32 at the Chicago Boat Show, the Hood 42 has an auxiliary engine and a cabin that is perfect for weekend getaways.

CW Hood 46 Sailboat
Serving as the flagship for our coastal cruising series, we have designed the CW Hood 46 to deliver performance at no cost to elegance. This model has a 6' draft and a low center of gravity with a self-righting capacity of 130 degrees. With her generous and ergonomic cockpit, the crew has access to every sheet with unencumbered ease. Thanks to her high tech construction method of employing carbon, kevlar, and e-glass weight is removed and strength is added where necessary. The CW Hood 46 delivers as a modern cruiser with a sense of timeless heritage.

CW Hood 71 Schooner
The Hood 71 is an idea Chris Hood had for a modern schooner that a client could take for example, on the Halifax Race. A boat that would reach well at an amazing turn of speed and look superb doing it, with cold molded construction and carbon fiber spars. A classic yacht recognizing the spirit of tradition.
